Abstract
Von der Entdeckung eines ganzen bis dahin fast unbekannten Śāstra durfte man sich auch eine bedeutende lexikalische Ausbeute versprechen, nur wird bei dem Kauṭilīya Arthaśāstra dieses Resultat etwas beeinträchtigt durch das Fehlen eines vollständigen alten Kommentars und durch die oft mangelhafte und unsichere Überlieferung des Textes.
