Abstract
This paper will be organized as follows: First, the author provides a brief discussion of spatial relator expressions, constructions which can be used to locate a figure with respect to a ground; then he discusses static spatial relations and dynamic spatial relations, relating Chantyal in the process to Talmy’s typology of event types. In section 5, posture ex-pressions are discussed and in the 6th and the 7th parts the author provides a brief discussion of spatial deixis and an overview of frames of reference in describing spatial relations. The last section contains a summary and discussion of the facts presented in the paper.
